Located at 145 N Duke St, this local favorite has gained a loyal following for its focused approach to specialty coffee. At Square One, they take pride in roasting their own coffee, ensuring that each cup served is a true representation of the coffee's origins. Customers rave about their diverse selection of single-origin options and thoughtfully crafted blends, each roasted to perfection and ready to deliver an unparalleled taste experience. From their robust Americano, layered with rich espresso flavors and topped with just the right amount of hot water, to their exquisite pour-overs, every sip tells a story of quality and craftsmanship.
My personal highlight was the Keemun Mao Feng, a tea that seduced my senses with its sweet aroma of baking chocolate and rich mouthfeel. It’s little details like these that make Square One stand out. The atmosphere invites you to linger, sip, and savor. The positive energy and community vibe make it clear why it's loved by both locals and visitors.
If you’re in the Lancaster area, don’t miss your chance to experience the exquisite offerings at Square One Coffee Roasters. With their commitment to quality, exceptional service, and welcoming atmosphere, it’s a must-visit destination for any coffee lover.
“ Super friendly staff and great drinks. My daughter and I went in on mother's day while the wife was sleeping. It was busy, but they kept the line moving. They also went out of there way to check their inventory for me when they didn't have the size t-shirt (their logo is awesome) I was looking for. Ended up buying 2. Next time we are in Lancaster, we will definitely stop back! ”
“ Square One is one of the best coffee places in the area. They roast their own coffee and they make amazing coffee. They focus on specialty coffee, so they do not flavor any of the coffee beans they sell. They have a lot of single origin options, and some blends, with various roast levels. The cafe itself is also nice and cozy. I haven't tried everything but they have many good options including two espresso options, one that rotates and one that's the same. I would also highly recommend their pour overs. ”
“ I was looking for another local coffee shop, got lost in directions and stumbled upon Square One and oh boy it was a treat. Although they ran out of oat milk my iced latte with regular milk and cold foam was absolutely amazing! So glad I came here. Service was outstanding! It must be locals’ most favorite coffee shop. Would be mine for sure! Highly recommend! ”
“ Fantastic coffee, pleasant service, nice atmosphere to enjoy your coffee. I also ordered a 2 lb bag to take home. Highly recommend. ”
“ I was gifted a cupping class to Square One and it was a wonderful experience. Ken was great in walking us through the coffees and steps for tasting, plus the coffee itself was fantastic tasting. Any shop committed to educating consumers on coffee gets approval from me, and doing it via great coffee is even better. I’d recommend a cupping/brewing class at Square One to anyone. ”
“ Excellent coffee if you appreciate a good drip or espresso. We're coffee snobs are were impressed. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming and the pastries were delicious. Check out the brick wall in the back where people leave notes in the wall. Great coffee spot. Will absolutely be back. ”
“ sunday 3:40pm it is pretty noisy but the atmosphere is nice, i just forgot my earbuds is all. ”
“ another great spot for coffee at Lancaster. There is only street parking though which could be a challenge during busy days but otherwise a good cafe to visit. The lattes were delicious, not too light and not too bitter - art is a bonus! Cant say much about the other items on the menu since we were only here for the lattes during our visit. as for ambiance, i appreciate that the place is nicely lit with natural lighting. Tables and chair are cute too - the chairs, especially, caught my attention as the shape reminded me of a guitar pick which I found adorable. But like i said, the cafe could get busy and so it may not be the best spot to linger but enough to enjoy being caffeinated. ”
